On March 25, CNOOC announced that my country discovered a high-yield oil and gas well in the Bohai Sea over 5,000 meters deep, with a tested daily oil and gas equivalent of nearly 1,400 cubic meters, setting a record for the highest daily output of my country's offshore deep oil and gas exploration wells and laying the foundation for further exploration of the ocean. It is of great significance to discover deep oil and gas resources and ensure national energy security.
The well is located in the central waters of the Bohai Sea, close to the Bozhong Depression, the largest hydrocarbon-rich depression in the Bohai Sea. The structure is a volcanic rock reservoir, with a tested daily crude oil production of 855 cubic meters and a daily natural gas production of over 500,000 cubic meters. meters, which is equivalent to about 1,400 cubic meters of oil and gas equivalent, and has broad exploration prospects.
"From the practice of my country's offshore oil and gas exploration, strata with a burial depth of more than 4,500 meters are usually called ultra-deep layers. The exploratory well we deployed is buried in a buried hill over 5,000 meters on the seabed. The formation temperature exceeds 180 degrees Celsius and the pressure exceeds 70 MPa. It is a rare high-temperature and high-pressure ultra-deep oil and gas well in China. It is not easy to complete drilling and obtain high production," said the relevant person in charge of CNOOC Tianjin Branch.
Bohai volcanic rock buried hills are distributed over a wide range, with rapid lithological changes and strong reservoir heterogeneity, making exploration extremely difficult. In recent years, CNOOC researchers have explored and proposed deep oil and gas exploration theories in extension-strike composite fault zones, continuously innovated lithology and lithofacies prediction methods, independently developed buried hill fluid identification technology, and successfully predicted the development of high-quality reservoirs in buried hills of volcanic rocks in the Bohai Sea. area, high-yield oil and gas wells were discovered. Previously, under the guidance of this theory, multiple deep-seated billion-ton oil fields including Bozhong 26-6 and Bozhong 13-2 were discovered.
The deputy chief engineer of CNOOC Exploration said that the successful drilling of this well opened up a new field of offshore ultra-deep oil and gas exploration, effectively confirmed the exploration potential of the hidden buried hills in the Bohai Sea, and at the same time extended- The breakthrough in theory and technology of deep oil and gas exploration in the strike-slip composite fault zone has further strengthened the technical confidence of scientific researchers in exploring deep and ultra-deep layers, and has positive significance for accelerating the process of deep and ultra-deep exploration in the Bohai Sea and building a trillion-square-meter offshore atmospheric area.
