Guangxi allocates 154 million yuan to accelerate the quality improvement of national water network backbone projects

Recently, the Ministry of Water Resources issued the "Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Construction of Provincial Water Networks" (hereinafter referred to as the "Guiding Opinions"). The guiding ideology and main goals for accelerating the construction of provincial water networks were clarified. By 2025, the provincial water network construction planning system will be fully established, and the construction of weak links in water conservancy infrastructure will be strengthened. By 2035, the provincial water network system will be basically completed, and water security capabilities will be significantly enhanced.

The "Guiding Opinions" clearly put forward three main tasks, namely, scientifically formulating provincial water network construction plans, accelerating provincial water network construction, and innovating the provincial water network construction promotion mechanism. Accelerate the implementation of provincial water network construction tasks.

At the same time, the General Office of the Ministry of Water Resources issued the "Implementation Plan for Major National Water Network Projects During the "14th Five-Year Plan" Period. By 2025, build a number of national water network backbone projects, implement provincial, municipal and county water network construction in an orderly manner, and strive to make up for shortcomings and weak links such as water resource allocation, urban and rural water supply, water network intelligence, water security assurance capabilities and digitalization , networked, intelligent and refined scheduling levels have been effectively improved.

The state and local governments attach great importance to water conservancy construction, and the scale of investment continues to expand. Recently, the Department of Finance of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region issued a special central budget infrastructure investment fund of 154 million yuan for the second batch of national water network backbone projects in 2022 to strongly support the acceleration of the quality improvement of backbone water network projects and further enhance Guangxi's water resources regulation and flood control capabilities. .

It is said that the funds are specially used for the continuation and modernization project of Wuhua Irrigation District in Nanning City, including the planned renovation of 496,000 acres of irrigation area. The main construction content is the anti-seepage lining of main and branch canals. and supporting renovation of buildings, etc., accelerate the preliminary work of large water network, large irrigation area and other projects, and contribute Guangxi's strength to the connection of the water system in the Pearl River Basin and the construction of the national water network.

According to statistics, from 2021 to 2022, the Finance Department of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has allocated a total of 2.63 billion yuan in infrastructure investment within the central budget to support the construction of relevant national water network backbone projects in Guangxi. After the project is completed, it will effectively improve the water resources regulation and storage capacity in key areas of Guangxi, optimize and improve the layout of the flood control system, and enhance the country's water security capabilities.
