With the current health crisis facing mankind, a game between man and nature is about to begin. For the past thousands of years, humans have firmly grasped the dominance of the earth in their hands. However, due to excessive consumption, development, and raging, today, when the economy, culture, society, and life have reached a certain expansion limit, it has naturally begun its own counterattack.
Architectural design should originally be based on following nature.
All things naturally coexist, and those who do the opposite will suffer nature’s revenge.
Complying with nature, integrating with nature, and coexisting with nature are the design methods of environmental architectural aesthetics.
▲Lleida Spanish Climate Museum
The Lleida Climate Museum, also known as the "Open Frame", is located in Lleida, Spain. Different from ordinary closed museums, this museum is more like a naturally generated natural landscape. The place has a semi-arid climate with mild, foggy winters and hot, dry summers.
This exposed natural building has a high degree of spatial openness. It is made of decorative panels, stone, wood, metal, wire mesh, concrete, green plants, and fabrics. The museum was originally built as a competition for projects that challenge architecture, and the rules of the competition are that nature is constantly growing and changing. However, based on his own design ideas, the designer broke away from the existing competition rules. He changed the design of the building from a standardized closed exhibition hall space to an open natural symbiotic design.
Climate should be a natural symbiosis of the environment. It is born from nature and changes with the environment. Following this theme, in order to make the museum more integrated with the environment, the architect chose to use natural vegetation and land as the basis of the building, plus concrete, steel bars, stone and other external barriers to achieve climate division in the museum. Here, you can feel the natural microclimate changes. And this is the real natural existence, not an artificial air-conditioned and heated room.
Sufficient sunshine, fresh air, vast sky, large green plants... This museum gives visitors the opportunity to have close contact with the natural environment, awakening consumers in the era of climate change, and achieving greater fairness. sustainable future.
Here, the sun's rays and deciduous vegetation, under the specific movement of the sun, moon and stars, the shadows change like dancing elves. Convection wind makes different areas in the building have different seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter. You can have a panoramic view of the climate and scenery of the four seasons.
Wind and rain in the natural environment form a natural water cycle in the museum and become the key to regulating different humidity levels. In the current era of global climate warming, humans have proposed protecting resources and developing renewable energy to achieve sustainable development. The regeneration cycle system in this museum is a scaled-down model of a balanced low-carbon ecosystem.
The mottled bathroom does not represent the change of time, but the reflection of the building form under the climate environment. The bricks and tiles are the cradle of nature, and the sunshine is the nest that changes with the seasons. This museum is very special. What it presents to the exhibitors is not gorgeous and expensive furnishings, but the true appearance of the natural environment, climate and weather. What it gives is a warning and a reminder.
